Active Asset is a software application leveraging the power of Newbury's patented location technology with features that empower enterprises to locate, track, manage and analyze critical point-of-need and time-of-need mobile assets for maximum return on investment. Together with Newbury's Location Appliance™ and other WLAN location engines from Meru, Nortel and Trapeze, Active Asset is a powerful real-time asset tracking solution that delivers critical, real-time information necessary to improve enterprise cost efficiencies and employee productivity. Improving operational efficiency, safety and loss prevention in enterprise settings such as data centers, healthcare, supply chain and manufacturing are important benefits that real-time asset tracking delivers. Active Asset empowers enterprises to access timely information and services continuously, easily and more efficiently. Leverage Existing WLAN Investment and Maximize ROI Newbury's Active Asset takes asset tracking and management beyond the choke point and reader limitations of passive RFID. Traditional passive RFID solutions can only identify when an asset has been in the proximity of an "exciter", often placed at a choke point like a doorway. In contrast, by using Wi-Fi asset tags such as the Newbury AT-320 that actively broadcast identifying information, Active Asset can continuly track in real time the physical location of every asset without requiring an choke point sensors. Further, by leveraging existing WLAN infrastructure such as access points from 3Com, Aruba, Cisco, Meru, Nortel, Symbol/Motorola or Trapeze, Active Asset enables organizations to implement active RFID solutions without the need for a costly overlay of network sensors. Real-time Asset Visualization
Active Asset identifies and solves asset management and workflow concerns for organizations. In the above picture, Active Asset is deployed in a healthcare setting. The locations of employees, patents and critical equipment are being identified and tracked in real-time to ensure efficient use of personnel, equipment and facilities. Mouse over a particular asset and you receive detailed information on the asset including name, type, MAC address and network it's connected to. You can also filter the real-time view by group to specify a class of assets (i.e. location of all available wheelchairs in maternity ward).
Comprehensive Asset List
Active Asset provides a summary of all assets tracked in real-time for a particular shapshot in time. Users can easily visualize the asset name, MAC address, type (user defined), location and assigned asset group (patients, critical care equipment, nurses, doctors, etc.).
