Trapeze will license Newbury’s patented server-side location technology and collaborate to integrate its award-winning location systems into Trapeze’s wireless networking solutions.
Location-based services for wireless LANs continue to gain momentum with deployments in a wide variety of enterprise organizations such as healthcare, financial services, manufacturing and retail. Industry research firms such as Forrester Research, IDC Corporation and Yankee Group report that these location systems are today generating a new class of enterprise applications taking advantage of the mobility of WLANs to support business processes in ways that wired-only networks cannot.
